It Cosmetics: Confidence In Your Glow

It Cosmetics is known for their good for your skin makeup products. They do everything from foundation to eyeshadows to skin care. If you are looking for a product, chances are they have it. I first fell in love with the It Cosmetics Confidence in a Compact. Since then, I have also fallen in love with their CC+ Cream. When I first saw their take on the neapolitan face palette, I knew I had to have one. Originally, I bought the Instant Natural Glow. But, I recently won the entire collection, including the special brush, from Serein Wu. So, I just want to give a big shoutout to her! She is an amazing Youtuber and blogger. You can check her out here.

Here is the description of the products according to the It Cosmetics website, “from the sensorial experience of the fresh orange scent to the powerful vitamin C-infused radiance-boosting and brightening formula, Confidence in Your Glow™ transforms the look of your complexion with high-performance, anti-aging ingredients and talc-free, ultra-luxe pigments. Combined with proprietary Drops of Light Technology™, your skin will feel instantly softer and smoother with a younger, airbrushed appearance! Developed with plastic surgeons and perfect for all skin types and tones, this compact is truly your one-step wonder for your most beautiful-looking skin.” There are three different shades in this collection as well as the Heavenly Skin One-Sweep Wonder Brush #705.

The first, and lightest, of the compacts is Instant Nude Glow. The website describes this product as being perfect for achieving “the softest, sheerest naturally pretty glow.” I would describe the highlight as a light champagne color. The blush is a nice peachy pink and the bronzer is a soft warm bronze.

The only palette that I bought myself was the Instant Natural Glow. This compact is perfect “for a natural rosy kiss of radiance and natural boost of warmth.” The highlighter here is a little more pink tones. The blush is definitely rosey with a light, more cool toned bronzer.

Finally, we have Instant Warm Glow. On their website, it is described as “your richest shade of bronzer for the deepest color payoff, with a gorgeous peachy-pink flush for your brightening radiance.” This really says it all. The blush is a brighter pink with a darker bronzer and the highlight is a cream color.

The It Cosmetics brushes are unique because they are infused with skin care ingredients. The hair of the brushes are “infused with anti-aging collagen, silk, peptides, niacin and antioxidants.” The Heavenly Skin One-Sweep Wonder Brush #705 was made specifically to go with these palettes. You are supposed to be able to sweep the brush across the palette, from bronzer to highlight, and then sweep the brush across your cheeks back towards the hairline.

While this method does work, it is not my favorite. It is fast and looks pretty on the cheeks, but it does not work to well for bronzing the face. In actuality, I best like the brush for applying the bronzer by itself. It is so soft and blends the product like a dream. After applying the bronzer, I will go back in with other brushed to apply the blush and highlight.

Overall, I really love these products. They are pigmented, creamy and easy  to blend. You only have to barely touch your brush to pick up product. Just make sure to use lightly as the product does have some kick up. On the It Cosmetics website, each palette retails for $32 and the brush for $48. At those prices, I definitely think the palettes are worth it, but the brush is not necessary. However, if you head over to the QVC site, you can get a palette and brush combo for only $35.92.

Which palette is your favorite? Mine has to be the Instant Nude Glow.

Monthly Favorites: April 2017

Guys, I can’t believe it is already May! Time flys when you’re insanely busy. Even though it’s been hectic, April is one of my favorite months. The weather is beautiful, flowers are blooming and it’s my birthday month!

This month, I found a lot of new products as well as fell back in love with some old products.

Farsali Rose Gold Elixir $54
So you may have seen the post where I made a Diy Rose Gold Elixir, and that was based on this product. I love using this in the morning to moisturize before putting on my makeup. It moisturizes my skin without being too heavy. It also leaves my lips so soft. It’s been a savior since starting Accutaine.

It Cosmetics CC+ Cream $38

I’ve tried the Confidence in a Compact, but I’ve been itching to give this CC cream a go. I have to say, it’s amazing! It feels great, stays all day and helps keep my skin from looking too dry. The best part? It has suncreen that actually works so well for me, even with my skin being more sensitive! Definitely going to keep this in my bag all summer.

Ulta Color Correcting Concealer $9

I first tried this in a Review of Ulta brand makeup. I was a little unsure at first, but I really love it. I just use my new Clarisonic foundation brush and it blends it out like a dream. It cancels out all of my redness without making me look green or cakey.

CoverFx Custom Enhancer Drops $42

If you’ve been following me for a while, you will know I love a good Liquid Highlighter. Well, I finally decided to take the plunge and purchased this Cover Fx enhancer drops in moonlight. I’m obsessed! It gives such a beautiful metallic sheen. I love using this as a highlight and even on my eyes as a shadow or base. It’s just so stunning.

Milani Make It Last Setting Spray $10

I first purchased this setting spray a few months back when all the beauty gurus were raving about it. Unfortunately for me, it didn’t work well because I was so oily. So, it’s been sitting on my vanity for when I wanted to use it to wet a shadow brush. However, now that my skin is dryer, it has been amazing! It helps set my makeup and also adds a little moisture.

These are all the products I have been loving this month and I can’t wait to see what next month will bring. What have been your favorites for April?

It Cosemtics: Confidence in a Compact

If I could create my dream foundation it would be full coverage with SPF, have ingredients to benefit my skin, as well as help blur pores and fine lines. Not too much to ask for, right?

Though it seems unrealistic to expect so much from one product, my interest was piqued when I heard about the new serum compact foundation from It Cosmetics. Available at Ulta, their site claims ” Confidence in a Compact starts its life as your first-ever, clinically shown anti-aging solid serum, and is infused with full-coverage pigments and SPF 50+ UVA/UVB broad-spectrum physical sunscreen. It truly delivers all the skincare benefits of your best-selling Confidence in a Cream, plus your full-coverage foundation and SPF 50+ in one simple step!” I mean what part of that doesn’t sound amazing? So, of course I went in search at my local Ulta the day it launched.

The packaging is beautiful. It is a plastic compact with a decent mirror and puff included. It is very similar to the packing you would find for a cushion foundation.

While I was in the store, I took a look at the brush that was made for this product. The Heavenly Skin brush was beautiful, but at almost $50, it seemed similar enough to brushes I had at home that I decided not to purchase it.

I tried applying this foundation with the included puff, my Artis Oval 7 and my Spectrum B01. I did not like the puff at all. My Artis oval 7 worked well, but I feel I got the best application with my Spectrum flat buffing brush.

I have very oily, acne prone skin. I primed my T zone with Rimmel Stay Matte as well as a little of the Smashbox pore minimizing primer. Normally, I would use a green color corrector to help with my acne, but decided to forgo it to see how the foundation really worked. I was pleasantly surprised how well it covered my acne and discoloration. So, I added a little powder to set it and finished it off with a mattifying setting spray.

Throughout the day, I was pleasantly surprised. Normally, I’m an oily mess in a matter of hours. However, I didn’t notice any major problem until about 6-7 hours of wear. It didn’t settle into any lines, crease or break apart.

Please excuse my expression, as this picture was take at 7:00 pm, about 12 hours after I had applied it. As you can see, I am oily and the foundation has started to wear away. But for 12 hours of wear, I was really pleasantly surprised!

Overall, I really love this foundation. It is a little tacky, so I definitely recommend setting it with a powder. I loved the coverage and it felt so light weight all day. I will say, I don’t think this will be the best for dry skin. I noticed that it had a tendency to grab on to any little pieces of dry skin I had. If you have oily, combination or normal skin, I think you will love it!

Do you plan of giving the serum compact foundation a try? Let me now in the comments below.

Hope you have a great weekend!
