Makeup Eraser
Picture this: You’ve been traveling all day and finally make it to your hotel room. You’re exhausted and all you want to do is crash. You know you should really take off your makeup so you dig through your suitcase only to find that you forgot your makeup remover or even worse it exploded all over you bag. Sounds like a total headache right? Well I may have found the answer: the Makeup Eraser. I can’t tell you how many times I have been in a similar situation, or just completely forgot my makeup remover altogether. This actually happened in Malaysia and I remember trying to scrub it off with…

Top 7 Exfoliators
So the last few months, I haven’t done any updates. Good news is I am finally seeing some progress. So, at the bottom, I will have some 5 month progress pics to share. Until then I thought I would talk all about my favorite exfoliators. Overall, my time on isotretinoin hasn’t been too bad. I haven’t had any adverse effects. The only noticeable thing has been the dry skin. Mostly, I can handle it. Where it becomes problematic is when I want to put on makeup. If you try to put foundation over all that dry skin, well it just doesn’t look cute. Korres Wild Rose Exfoliating Cleanser ($28) is a…

Favorite Moisturizers While On Isotretinoin
Normally, I would give an update on my isotretinoin journey with pictures and an updated skincare routine. However, I do not feel that I have had such a huge change this month. My skin care routine is pretty much the same. While my skin seems to be a little bit dryer, it’s nothing unbearable. So, this month I decided to go over all of the best moisturizers that I have found, everything from head to toe. I don’t feel like my skin has made any huge improvements this month and I have not had any changes with symptoms or mood. Although that is great, it makes for some lame progress…

My Skin Diary
This last month has been great! At least it has when its come to my skin. I haven’t noticed any symptoms with taking isotretinoin except for my skin is getting increasingly more dry. However, it isn’t too bad and I think that has to do with my use of oils in my skin care routine. I’ll discuss that more below, but first here is my morning and evening skin care products in order. AM Face: Farsali Rose Gold Elixir (DIY Version) Origins Ginzing Moisturizer Origins Ginzing Eye Cream Hanalei Lip Treatment AM Body: DIY Shimmer Body Oil Sunscreen Essence of Beauty Hand Cream PM Face: Tarte Gel Cleanser Tarte Maracuja…

My Skin Diary
Well, I have officially been taking isotretinoin for one month and things have not been too bad. My dermatologist started me at 20mg once a day, saying this should prevent my skin from purging and causing more breakouts. It seems she was right, because I have only have one or two new pimples over the month and they went away almost as quickly as they appeared. Here are a few progress shots: Though I didn’t notice a difference before taking the photos, my husband did. He had been gone for about 3 weeks and the first night he was home he mentioned that my skin was looking better. So far,…

My Skin Diary
Makeup is wonderful. Not only can it be used to accentuate your natural beauty, but it can also be used to conceal the things we don’t like. Growing up, I had fairly good skin. I can remember just brushing on light mineral foundation or maybe a little bb cream and being happy. I rarely broke out and when I did, it was controllable. Unfortunately, that all changed about 4-5 years ago. I started to not only break out, but to get terrible cystic acne. The worst areas were my jaw and chin, meaning it is hormonal. The problem with that: it is harder to treat. I’ve tried everything it…

Top 10 Essential Oils for Skin Care
You have probably noticed, but I use a lot of essential oils. Essential oils are great for so many different things. I like to mix and match different ones for aroma therapy, but each one has different benefits for your skin as well. So, I figured why not make a list of my favorite top 10 essential oils for skin care so that way when you try a DIY, you can fully customize it for your skin’s needs. Top 10 Essential Oils for Skin Care Chamomile: My first thought when I think of chamomile is sleepy time tea. However, it is quite good for skin too. One of the greatest…
