July 2017 Boxycharm
Although it is already August, I still wanted to get my Boxycharm review up for July. Even though it came in late, I can’t deny that I was happy with almost all of the products. In July’s box there was a sunscreen, eyeshadow palette, eyebrow pencil, liquid lip and body illuminizer. All products that are perfect for summer. The first product is the Bare Minerals Prep Step SPF 50. Now, I am really really pale. Between my complexion and being on isotretinoin, I burn so easily. I really enjoyed this sun screen. It is very liquidy, but it dries down to a powder like finish. I doesn’t clog pores and…

Jaclyn Hill Morphe Palette
This palette. Let me tell you, it’s crazy. It’s been so hyped and beauty lovers all over the world have been waiting months to get their hands on it. The launch party was huge and the YouTube reviews are numerous. It was so in demand that it sold out in just 45 minutes. It will be coming back (date tbd) but I was able to get my hands on it. I’ve been using it for over a week now and I fell that I have a pretty good idea of how all the shades blend and perform. Just a quick note about the packaging. It is a white cardboard as…

My Skin Diary
This last month has been great! At least it has when its come to my skin. I haven’t noticed any symptoms with taking isotretinoin except for my skin is getting increasingly more dry. However, it isn’t too bad and I think that has to do with my use of oils in my skin care routine. I’ll discuss that more below, but first here is my morning and evening skin care products in order. AM Face: Farsali Rose Gold Elixir (DIY Version) Origins Ginzing Moisturizer Origins Ginzing Eye Cream Hanalei Lip Treatment AM Body: DIY Shimmer Body Oil Sunscreen Essence of Beauty Hand Cream PM Face: Tarte Gel Cleanser Tarte Maracuja…

Review: Tarte Hybrid Gel Foundation
I had never really tried any products from Tarte, other than their blushes, until I tried a discovery set from Sephora. I instantly fell in love with all of the products and was itching to try more. Next thing I know, they were offering a promotion. For $63 you got a makeup bag, foundation, blush, eye liner, mascara, lip product and a brush. All of the products are full sized, shipping was about $5 dollars and I found a $10 dollar off coupon. How could I pass up the offer? Honestly, what I was most intrigued about was the Empowered Hybrid Gel Foundation ($39). Tarte’s websites offers 17 shades and claims…

You may have noticed by now, but I love natural skin care. So when I received my last Voxbox from Influenster, I was stoked! It was full of goodies from Origins. If you are unfamiliar with Influenster, it is a website where you can review products and qualify to receive more products for free in exchange for honest reviews. You can get more information here. In this vox box, we received 5 products from Origins: Checks and Balances Cleanser, Ginzing Moisturizer and Eye Cream, High Potency Night-A-Mins and the Clear Improvements Mask. Honestly, I would be lying if I didn’t say that I’ve fallen for all of these products. Here…

5 Monthly Favorites: March ’17
Sometimes it’s not about buying tons of new products, but rather falling back in love with things you already own. It seems like March was a month of rediscovery for me, both for me personally and my makeup bag. Things got tough this last month. I was feeling pressured between work and school. I was also my husband’s major support as he finished his PhD. I was feeling like the world was my weight to carry. Thankfully, it seems like everything is starting to make a turn for the better. If you’re having a tough time, just remember that things get better and don’t give up. Now that you’re caught…

March Boxycharm Unboxing
For those who are unfamiliar, Boxycharm is a makeup monthly subscription box. For just $21 a month, you get 5 full sized products to play with. It’s a great way to experiment with new brands and products you may not normal purchase, all for a fraction of the retail price. The boxes usually ship out between the 5th and the 13th of each month. However, they were quite delayed this month due to the winter storms. But it’s finally here! So I’m just going to go item to item and give you a little mini review. The first item in this month’s box is the Photo Finish Primer ($16) by…
