    Monthly Favorites: April 2017

Guys, I can’t believe it is already May! Time flys when you’re insanely busy. Even though it’s been hectic, April is one of my favorite months. The weather is beautiful, flowers are blooming and it’s my birthday month!  This month, I found a lot of new products as well as fell back in love with some old products. So you may have seen the post where I made a Diy Rose Gold Elixir, and that was based on this product. I love using this in the morning to moisturize before putting on my makeup. It moisturizes my skin without being too heavy. It also leaves my lips so soft. It’s…

    Review: KVD Pastel Goth Palette

Guys, it finally happened. A few days ago, I got the notification I’d been waiting for: the KVD Pastel Goth Palette was in stock again. Thank God for smartphones and the Sephora app. Sometimes, I can’t remember my life without my phone by my side. Being thankful for the notification, I quickly purchased the palette before it disappeared again.  A couple weeks ago I reviewed the Lorac Pro I Love Brunch Palette. I was so excited for the pastel colors but I found them to be poorly pigmented and it took far too much effort to get each shade to work. So, unfortunately, I decided to return it. However, I…

Top 20 Products to Control Oil and Hide Blemishes

I remember all throughout high school, I had fairly good skin. I felt comfortable with using a light mineral powder foundation and rarely broke out. Fast forward 6 years and I have the skin of a teenager. It’s gotten to the point where I’ve been considering starting Accutaine (more on that later). Although my skin has been driving me crazy, I’ve nailed down a bunch of products to help conceal my acne and control my oils. So here it is, my Top 20 Products to Control Oil and Hide Blemishes. Just as a disclaimer, these are all products that have worked for me personally. Remember makeup and skincare are very…

    Review: Moda Prismatic Oval Brushes

One thing you will learn pretty soon after meeting me is that I love mermaids. In fact, I’m positive that I secretly am one. Besides being a mermaid, another fact people learn about me soon after we meet is that I love a good deal. I love a bargain so much, sometimes it makes it hard to splurge on more expensive things.  I ran into this problem a few months ago when I was looking into purchasing a Artis Oval 7 brush. I couldn’t believe people actually paid $62 for one brush. How could it possibly be worth it? Well, I managed to find a sale and a coupon code…

    February Favorites

I cannot believe it is already March. I know that February is a shorter month, but I feel like time has been flying! Soon, I am going to be starting my student teaching and the next thing you know, it’ll be May and I’ll have to start packing to move. Crazy huh? This month I’ve tried so many new products. Some I’ve done full reviews on, so I won’t go too in depth with those but i will link them below. My first favorite is these Smashbox Covershot palettes. I bought these back in December to take on a trip with me. I recently got into them again this month…

Review: Lorac I Love Brunch Palette

I love spring. The weather is perfect and not too hot and trust me, I live in Arizona so I know what hot is. Along with perfect weather, everything seems to come alive again. Flowers bloom and the world is full of color. So, when I first laid eyes on the new Lorac Pro Pallete: I Love Brunch, I knew I had to have it. I was hypnotized by the pastels and started dreaming of all the watercolor inspired looks I could create. So I ordered it that night. The packaging is beautiful, a white holographic base with beautiful gold and pink writing. Also included in the box are a…

It Cosemtics: Confidence in a Compact

If I could create my dream foundation it would be full coverage with SPF, have ingredients to benefit my skin, as well as help blur pores and fine lines. Not too much to ask for, right? Though it seems unrealistic to expect so much from one product, my interest was piqued when I heard about the new serum compact foundation from It Cosmetics. Available at Ulta, their site claims ” Confidence in a Compact starts its life as your first-ever, clinically shown anti-aging solid serum, and is infused with full-coverage pigments and SPF 50+ UVA/UVB broad-spectrum physical sunscreen. It truly delivers all the skincare benefits of your best-selling Confidence in…

MakeUp Revolution: Golden Bar Palette Review

I hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day! I know for me, the only thing that is better than getting chocolate, is getting new makeup. Recently, I picked up the Makeup Revolution Golden Bar Palette ($15) from Ulta and I was so excited! The colors looks right up my alley and the box states that it was a mix of matte and shimmer shadows, which is ideal for me for traveling.  To start, that packaging is adorable! Not only is it a sturdy plastic, but it looks like a chocolate bar that has been dipped in gold! So stunning! I also really appreciate the fact that finger prints don’t show…

    DIY Monday: Rose Highlighter

Ever since I saw the promo shots of the new Lancôme Blush La Rose, I knew I had to have it.  But after seeing the $60 price tag, I became dismayed. Even more so after I saw the reviews that started popping up all over YouTube. That got me to thinking. Wouldn’t it be fairly simple to do this with any powder product or pigment? So, I made a plan of action and headed to my local dollar store. What you will need: Paper towels  Fake roses A box to put the finished product in A plastic container with a lid An empty bowl Rubbing Alcohol (between 70-100% alcohol for…
