Subscription Box

Boxycharm: June 2018

Happy Wednesday guys! I hope you have been having a good month so far. For me, its been pretty crazy. We were traveling a lot and my in-laws have been with us for the past couple of weeks. Not to mention, I also started school and have been averaging 30 hours a week for studying ????. I have to say, it is so nice to finally be back home and getting into a more normal schedule. The most exciting part about being home again is I get to play with my new Boxycharm! And let me tell you, this months box is extra special!

If you aren’t familiar with Boxycharm, it is a monthly subscription box. For $21 a month, you get 5-6 full sized makeup and beauty products. Boxycharm guarantees that each box will have a total retail value over $100. Click here for more information or to sign up.

I feel like every influencer is obsessed with the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream ($20). I have been dying to try it but with the full size being $45, I just couldn’t justify the price. When I saw that Boxycharm included the mini version, I was so excited! First of all, this product smells amazing! Second, it leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth. I love keeping this in my purse and I think this is going to be one of my go to lotions this summer.

I think everyone loves new makeup brushes. Whenever we receive them in a Boxycharm, I get excited. This month they included the 3 Piece Complexion Set from Luxie Beauty ($42). While the set sells for $42, they always have coupons and sales going on. The brushes are super soft and I have been loving the tapered highlight brush. I am not a big fan of foundation brushes and find this one to be too small, though it works well for foundation. I feel the same about the powder brush. It is soft and works well, it is just a little too small for my taste. I think it works if you only want to set certain areas. Overall, I am really liking these brushes and will keep them in my vanity rotation.

Now it is no secret that subscription boxes love pencil eyeliners. This month, Boxycharm included a Jonteblu Eyeliner Pencil in Charcoal ($5). This is an average liner and works well for creating a smokey look. That being said, there is nothing particularly special about it. I am going to keep it, but I don’t see myself grabbing for it too often.

The product that everyone (or at least me) is probably most excited for is the Reina Del Caribe Palette from Alamar Cosmetics ($28). This is the first launch from Alamar and it is stunning. There are four warm toned mattes and 4 cool toned shimmers.

Look 1- Crease: Coco-Taxi; Lid: Trópico; Outer V: Guantanamer; Liner: Cafecito; Inner Corner: La Costa

Look 2- Crease/Outer V: Cafecito; Lid/Lower Lash Line: Varadero, Celia, El Malecon; Inner Corner: La Costa

Look 3- Crease/Lower Lash Line: GUantanamer, Trópico, Coco-Taxi; Lid: La Costa; Liner: Cafecito; Inner Corner: El Malecon

To go with the eyeshadow palette and eyeliner, Boxycharm also included a pair of false lashes; The Battington Monroe Silk Lashes ($28). So personally, I do not wear falsies. I have always found that mascara achieves the amount of drama that I am looking for. However, these really speak to me. They are so pretty and whispy that I think I am going to hold on to them, just in case.

The final item in this month’s Boxycharm is the Ofra Liquid Lipstick in Verona ($21). The only other Ofra lipsticks I own have also come from Boxycharm. That being said, I really like this formula. It is long lasting but not transfer proof. I personally like this because it means it is not overly drying.

I know this may surprise you *insert sarcasm here* but I am in love with this month’s box. The eyeshadow palette has been on my vanity nonstop. It is stunning, pigmented and blends beautifully. The lipstick is really pretty and I definitely see myself using it more in the fall. To top it all off, the Bum Bum cream smells amazing! These are my top products, but I also enjoy the brushes, liner, and lashes. Overall, this month’s box has a retail value of $144. I can’t wait to see what next month’s box will bring!
